Local businesses invited to join bowling pin art project and Insider’s Advantage interactive visitor guide

RENO, Nev. (Feb. 24, 2026) – As the city prepares to welcome thousands of bowlers and spectators for the 2026 United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Open Championships beginning March 14, 2026, at the National Bowling Stadium, Visit Reno Tahoe is inviting local businesses to participate in two no-cost initiatives designed to boost community engagement and visitor spending across Washoe County.

Visit Reno Tahoe is introducing a new interactive way for visitors to explore dining, entertainment, shopping, and attractions, through its Insider’s Advantage program. The digital, map-based tool allows users to discover curated points of interest, access exclusive discounts at participating local businesses, browse activities and special events, and engage in features like check-in challenges and scavenger hunts. Participation is free and provides visibility to visitors attending conventions and events booked through Visit Reno Tahoe, including the USBC Open Championships.

Additionally, businesses enrolled in the Insider’s Advantage program are invited to participate in a community art project by decorating a bowling pin that reflects their brand or connection to Reno Tahoe. Pins will be displayed throughout the tournament at the National Bowling Stadium, with an information card identifying each participating business. Bowlers and spectators will be invited to vote on their favorite designs, offering added exposure and awareness. Participating businesses have until March 6 to complete their pin.

“This is an opportunity for businesses across Washoe County to showcase their creativity and connect directly with thousands of visitors,” said Mike Larragueta, president and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “We want the entire community to feel part of the championships while ensuring our local businesses benefit from the increased visitation.”

These initiatives are designed to extend the economic impact of conventions and events such as the USBC Open Championships by encouraging visitors to explore and support local establishments during their stay.
