The inaugural REVEL Reno Tahoe race invites runners to chase personal records on a scenic Sierra Nevada descent
RENO, Nev. (March 11, 2026) – Lace up and get ready to run downhill toward your next personal record. Visit Reno Tahoe is welcoming the first ever REVEL Reno Tahoe Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K on May 17, 2026, giving runners the chance to experience one of Nevada's fastest and most scenic race courses. With more than 1,100 participants already registered from 11 countries and 43 states, excitement is building for the inaugural race.
Beginning high in the Sierra Nevada at the summit of Mt. Rose Highway and finishing at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center (RSCC), the race combines dramatic mountain scenery with a smooth downhill course designed for speed. The marathon is a USATF-certified Boston Marathon qualifying course, making it a popular choice for runners hoping to secure a coveted Boston entry.

The marathon begins at 8,911 feet at the summit of Mt. Rose Highway, descending through the scenic Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to 5,452 feet. From there, runners make a smooth transition into Reno's neighborhoods before making their way to the finish line at RSCC.
For runners seeking shorter distances, the half marathon begins further down Mt. Rose Highway near Montrêux and follows a similar scenic route into Reno, while the 10K provides an approachable option for runners looking to join the excitement.
All three races finish at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, where participants and spectators can celebrate with a lively finish-line atmosphere. The course is built for blazing fast times, epic scenery, and unforgettable moments.

In addition to delivering a memorable race experience, REVEL Reno Tahoe supports the local community, donating a portion of registration fees to Reno-area nonprofit organizations.
