New appointments reflect strong community ties and a shared vision for accessibility, connectivity, and the continued evolution of Reno Tahoe

RENO, Nev. (April 24, 2026) – Visit Reno Tahoe (RSCVA) today announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors, along with the selection of a new representative to the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) Board of Trustees.

Richard Jacobs, Director of Sales and Special Events at J Resort, has been appointed to the RSCVA Board representing the Nevada Resort Association, and Ryan Bellows, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Government Relations for NV Energy, joins representing the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce. Both appointments were approved unanimously.

In addition, the RSCVA Board selected Roy Tuscany, founder and CEO of the High Fives Foundation, to serve on the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board of Trustees.

“These are leaders who are deeply connected to this community and have helped shape where Reno Tahoe is today,” said Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “Richard and Ryan bring valuable perspective from both the resort and business communities, and I’m looking forward to working with them as we continue building on the region’s momentum.”

Jacobs brings extensive experience in hospitality and events, contributing to the continued evolution of J Resort and downtown Reno. Bellows offers a strong background in corporate leadership, regulatory strategy, and community engagement through his work with NV Energy, supporting long-term growth across Northern Nevada.

Tuscany founded the High Fives Foundation following a life-changing spinal cord injury in 2006, growing it into a nationally recognized nonprofit that supports individuals with life-changing injuries through recovery resources and adaptive sports opportunities. His work has connected people across North America to outdoor recreation, with accessibility at the core of the organization’s mission.

City of Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve highlighted the significance of the appointments and the opportunity for continued collaboration across the region.

“This is an exciting day for our community,” said Hillary Schieve, City of Reno Mayor and RSCVA Board Chair. “We’re looking forward to working with the new board members as we continue to strengthen our regional partnerships. Roy Tuscany’s appointment to the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority is especially impactful because his leadership and firsthand perspective on accessibility will help ensure our airport continues to evolve in a way that serves all travelers.”

Tuscany’s experience traveling with varying mobility needs and building inclusive programs brings a unique lens to the RTAA Board, particularly as the airport continues to grow and modernize.

The RSCVA Board of Directors guide the strategic direction of Visit Reno Tahoe, supporting the region’s tourism economy and ensures continued benefits for residents, businesses, and visitors.
