Continued investment, new experiences, and a robust calendar of events signal sustained growth heading into the peak travel season.
RENO, Nev. (April 22, 2026) – As travelers rethink where and how they travel this year, Visit Reno Tahoe is gaining ground with major developments, new nonstop flights, and a packed events calendar. With rising visitor spending, longer stays and strong travel demand, the destination stands out against national trends where tourism has declined. Reno Tahoe continues to build on this momentum, welcoming travelers with renewed energy as the outdoor event season begins.
“Travelers are looking for destinations that offer more—more access, more experiences, and more value,” said Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “Reno Tahoe delivers that in a way that’s hard to replicate. We’re leaning into what we do best like events, outdoor access, and a culture that’s uniquely ours and that’s what keeps people coming back.”
The destination is welcoming a wave of new developments, including the Oddie District, a 232,000-square-foot innovation campus, makerspace, and art park that will be the world’s largest under one roof. MidTown is offering new eclectic additions, with modern Filipino cuisine at Malaya Reno, Vietnamese staples at Four Seasons Vietnamese Kitchen, and the recently opened 80s-themed Ms. Finicky bringing nostalgic cocktails and a decade-inspired vibe to the neighborhood.
Reno Tahoe is more accessible than ever, thanks to new seasonal flight routes and a $650 million investment at Reno-Tahoe International Airport, where groundbreaking on the new Gen A&B concourses has begun and is expected to nearly double the size of existing concourses in a contemporary style by 2029. From the Big Apple to the Midwest, new nonstop routes are now available at RNO:
- May 21: Sun Country Airlines – Minneapolis (MSP)
- June 4: Southwest Airlines – Dallas (DAL) and Chicago (MDW)
- June 7: Delta Air Lines – Minneapolis (MSP)
- June 11: JetBlue Airways – New York (JFK)
- June 11: JSX Airlines – Las Vegas (LAS) and Carlsbad (CLD)
- October 1: Southwest Airlines – Nashville (BNA)
Event season is underway, highlighted by the inaugural REVEL Reno Tahoe Race on May 17, a USATF-certified, Boston Marathon–qualifying course that descends more than 3,400 feet from Mount Rose. The Hot August Nights Spring Fever classic car show runs May 8–9 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, and the Reno River Festival brings three days of outdoor adventure, live music, food trucks, and craft beer to Idlewild Park May 29–31. In June, the 107th annual Reno Rodeo runs June 18–27, and the BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival celebrates its 29th year June 19–20 on Virginia Street with local barbecue, 100 beer samples, and live entertainment.
