RENO, Nev. (May 10, 2022) – Visit Reno Tahoe recently received multiple awards and recognition for its marketing and communications programs. The awards were bestowed by Expedia Group™ Media Solutions, and independent judges in two creative competitions, the 2022 American Advertising Awards by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Reno Foundation and the 2022 Hermes Creative Awards.

Visit Reno Tahoe has been recognized by Expedia Group™ Media Solutions as a 2022 Partner Award winner for “Air Campaign of the Year,” in relation to a recovery co-op campaign with American Airlines. Visit Reno Tahoe was one of only eight brands recognized at the EXPLORE 22 Expedia Group™ Partner Conference.

Looking to reach travelers searching for socially distanced, nature-inspired destinations, American Airlines partnered with Visit Reno Tahoe and Expedia Group™ Media Solutions on a co-op campaign to promote visitation to the region and capture increased demand. A targeted display campaign was created to reach travelers and increase fall travel consideration for Reno Tahoe.

Its awards program celebrates partner campaigns from around the world that demonstrate innovation, creativity, and achievement in travel marketing and advertising.

The Reno American Advertising Awards awarded Gold and Judges’ Choice honors to three of Visit Reno Tahoe’s influencer partnership programs.

Visit Reno Tahoe’s influencer partnership with The Bucket List Family won Judges’ Choice and a Gold Award in the “Social Media – Campaign” category. Northern Nevada’s premier tourism marketing organization hosted family travel journalists, The Bucket List Family over the holidays, which coincided with record-breaking December snowfall. The Bucket List Family documented their wintry adventures on their social media channels to over 4.3 million followers.

Travel content creators and photographers, Jess.Wandering and EverChangingHorizon’s photography and video won a Gold Award in the “Social Media – Single Execution” category. As part of their latest partnership with Visit Reno Tahoe, Jess.Wandering (Jess Dales) and EverChangingHorizon (Quin Schrock) explored local businesses in Reno and captured wintry scenes while paddleboarding on Lake Tahoe.

During their most recent winter visit to Reno Tahoe, the team from Paradise, a group of travel experts focused on inspiration and trip planning, ventured out to Mt. Rose Wilderness for backcountry skiing, explored the shoreline of Lake Tahoe, and experienced all the activities and amenities Grand Sierra Resort has to offer. The “Find Your Winter Paradise in Reno Tahoe” video won a Gold Award in the “Social Media – Campaign” category.

Visit Reno Tahoe’s marketing programs also received six Silver Awards and three Bronze Awards at the Reno American Advertising Awards.

Known as the ADDYs, the American Advertising Awards is the industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting 50,000 entries nationally each year from professional companies and individuals to recognize creative excellence in advertising at the local, district and national level.

The international Hermes Creative Awards awarded Platinum and Gold honors, and Honorable Mention to five of Visit Reno Tahoe’s marketing programs, ranging from social media partnerships to public relations and integrated marketing campaigns.

In partnership with Matador Network, “The Desert is My Canvas” video received a Platinum Award in the “Social Video” category. Filmmakers from Matador Network brought viewers along for an adventurous neon road trip through Reno Tahoe. The “Find Your Winter Paradise in Reno Tahoe” video also won a Platinum Award in the “Social Video” category.

Reno Tahoe’s “Perseid Meteor Shower Getaway” public relations initiative received a Gold Award in the “PR Campaign” category. The “Perseid Meteor Shower Getaway” invited ambitious travelers to venture into Massacre Rim, a certified Dark Sky Sanctuary, to catch the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower, complete with a prize package. Visit Reno Tahoe’s influencer partnership with The Bucket List Family also won a Gold Award in the “Social Influencer” category.

Visit Reno Tahoe’s “Recharge in Reno Tahoe” marketing campaign won Honorable Mention in the “Integrated Marketing Campaign” category. Launched in 2021, “Recharge in Reno Tahoe” showcases the modern renewal of Northern Nevada’s entertainment and outdoor offerings, while paying tribute to the destination’s traditional persona and recent efforts toward a broad recovery for travel and tourism.
