RENO, Nev. (November 21, 2022) – The Reno-Sparks Convention Center (RSCC) and the Reno Tahoe Destination Management Organization (DMO) are being recognized as 2022 recipients in the 6th Annual Stella Awards by Northstar Meetings Group, the nation’s leading publisher of meetings and events publications. The RSCC won a silver medal in the Best Convention Center (Far West) category, an improvement from last year’s bronze win and the CVB won bronze in the Best CVB/DMO (Far West) Category.

As one of the meetings industry’s highest honors, the Stella Awards recognizes hotels, convention centers, conference centers, airlines, cruise lines, DMOs/CVBs and DMCs that consistently deliver quality service and innovation to meetings and event professionals. This year, meeting planners and professionals cast more than 6,000 votes for the 561 destinations, hotels, and service providers nominated from around the world.

“With over 1 million sq. ft. of meeting space throughout the destination, more than half of which is offered at the convention center, Reno Tahoe and the Reno-Sparks Convention Center continue to be ideal for groups meetings and events,” said Reno Tahoe President and CEO Charles Harris. “We’re proud to offer a variety of quality options for planners coming to Northern Nevada, where they’ll have access to clean, efficient facilities in close proximity to first class hotel rooms, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and a selection of activities, from thrilling outdoor adventure experiences to exciting artistic and cultural events.”

In June, Reno Tahoe officially took over the management of the RSCC, along with three additional events facilities in the destination: the Reno Events Center (REC), National Bowling Stadium (NBS) and the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center (RSLEC). Reno Tahoe owns and operates the RSCC and is once again overseeing operations at the state-owned RSLEC, as well as the REC and the NBS, both owned by the City of Reno.
