RENO, Nev. (March 6, 2024) – The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) today announced the addition of three new members to its leadership staff. Reno Tahoe welcomes Valarie Segarra as the Director of Event Development, Chad Peters as Operations Manager at the National Bowling Stadium (NBS), and Joel Seidman as Director of Operations at the Reno Events Center (REC).

“We’re excited to welcome new Reno Tahoe team members and to continue strengthening our role in supporting the growth of Northern Nevada,” said Reno Tahoe Interim President and CEO Mike Larragueta. “These talented individuals bring diverse experience and expertise to our team, launching renewed efforts to attract visitors and events to the region, while bolstering our commitment to deliver a first-class experience with an emphasis on customer service.”

Valarie Segarra, CMP is Reno Tahoe’s Director of Event Development, a newly created position focused on identifying and cultivating new or existing events, including partnerships, to expand the diversity of events within Northern Nevada. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Segarra works in conjunction with the sales, marketing and events teams to implement strategies and initiatives designed to increase awareness and revenue. With more than 20 years of experience in destination marketing and event strategy, Segarra was responsible for the planning and execution of destination events, including the 2016 Final Presidential Debate, 2014 Destinations International Annual Convention, and the grand opening of Terminal 3 at Harry Reid International Airport. Based in Las Vegas, Segarra joined the Reno Tahoe sales team in January 2024 and is a graduate of the California State University – Fullerton.

Chad Peters is the Operations Manager overseeing management of the National Bowling Stadium. Reporting to the Executive Director of Facilities Operations, Peters is responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance of the NBS, as well as managing client relations, security, and policy administration. Most recently the Vice President of Business Operations at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Peters has more than 20 years of experience of business development, staff management and customer relations, and is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno.

Joel Seidman is the Director of Operations for the Reno Events Center. Reporting to the Executive Director of Facilities Operations, Seidman is responsible for the administration, operation and maintenance of the REC, as well as managing client relations, security, and policy administration. Joining the Reno Tahoe team this year, Seidman has extensive experience leading sales operations for commercial entertainment organizations, such as Caesar’s Entertainment, MGM Grand and Grand Sierra Resort. Seidman is a graduate of Emerson College.
