More than 400 athletes gather in Reno Tahoe for the 34th edition alongside the USBC Open Championships

RENO, Nev. (March 10, 2026) – Visit Reno Tahoe is proud to welcome the Special Olympics North America Unified Bowling Tournament to the National Bowling Stadium (NBS), bringing athletes, Unified partners and supporters from across the country and beyond to Northern Nevada for a celebration of competition, inclusion, and community.

Held March 10–12, the three-day tournament features more than 400 participants representing over 20 states and Curaçao. Hosted in partnership with the United States Bowling Congress (USBC), AMVETS, Special Olympics Nevada and Special Olympics North America, the event showcases high-level competition while advancing opportunities for athletes of all abilities to compete on a national stage.

Daily programming includes Unified doubles and team competition sessions, an opening ceremony and awards celebrations. Athletes will also have access to the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® program, including Strong Minds, an interactive initiative focused on building adaptive coping skills through engaging activities and wellness education.

Spectators are encouraged to attend, with the opening ceremony on March 11, competition sessions and awards celebrations all open to the public. Admission and parking at the National Bowling Stadium are free, offering residents and visitors a chance to experience inspiring, stadium-style competition in one of Reno’s most distinctive venues.

The tournament also helps kick off a dynamic spring at the National Bowling Stadium, with the 2026 USBC Open Championships running March 14 through July 19 and bringing thousands of bowlers to the region.
