Traffic Impacts and Community Awareness

Residents and visitors should expect increased traffic, lane closures, and delays on race day, due to:

  • Adjusted traffic patterns and special traffic control along most of Mt. Rose Highway
  • Racers, event vehicles and law enforcement along Mt. Rose Highway, Joy Lake Road, Callahan Road, Thomas Creek Road, South Virginia, and other surrounding neighborhood streets

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detours. Event organizers and Visit Reno Tahoe have coordinated with regional agencies, including law enforcement and transportation partners, to manage traffic impacts and ensure the safety of runners, residents, and visitors at this inaugural race.
