Second annual “adult summer camp” led by travel creators showcases Reno Tahoe experiences and local businesses
RENO, Nev. (June 8, 2026) – Visit Reno Tahoe is inviting media to capture the celebration of creativity, culture, and connection at a Burning Man-inspired block party at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 at Glow Plaza, as part of the destination’s second annual Reno Tahoe Creator Camp.
The event will bring together visiting content creators, camp attendees, artists, and community partners for an evening inspired by the creativity and spirit that makes Reno Tahoe unique. By capturing this event, it will provide the public with a unique inside view of content creation in action, including an interview with The Bucket List Family, one of the world’s most recognized family travel brands.
Reno Tahoe Creator Camp is Visit Reno Tahoe’s take on the growing “adult summer camp” movement, pairing adventure, creativity, and connection with the power of digital storytelling. Over four days, creators and attendees will experience the destination much like visitors do, exploring outdoor recreation, arts and culture, local businesses, and events, while sharing those experiences with millions of followers around the world. Last year’s event generated more than 10 million social impressions.
“People often think of summer camp as something you age out of, but we’re seeing a new generation of adults looking for experiences that combine adventure, learning, and community,” said Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “Creator Camp brings those elements together while introducing influential storytellers to Reno Tahoe in a way that’s authentic, memorable, and uniquely local.”
This year’s Reno Tahoe Creator Camp welcomes participants from 14 states and three countries, highlighting Reno Tahoe’s growing reputation among travel creators. The program’s impact extends beyond the event itself. Two members of last year’s production crew were hired by a participating creator following Creator Camp and are returning this year as part of that creator’s production team.
The program also supports one of Visit Reno Tahoe’s key tourism goals: increasing awareness of everything Reno Tahoe has to offer beyond its well-known attractions. Recent visitor research found there is still significant opportunity to introduce travelers to new experiences throughout the destination.
Reno Tahoe Creator Camp isn’t just bringing travel creators to Reno Tahoe; it’s creating exposure and business opportunities for local tourism partners. The content produced during the program reaches millions of potential visitors and helps showcase local businesses to audiences around the world.
The impact can be immediate. Content featuring local tourism partners has generated significant exposure, including a Bucket List Family video that received more than 965,000 views and 13,000 likes within its first days online.
“I was hauling our small balloon down the mountain when the Bucket List Family video hit and my phone started to blow up,” said Gabe Gundling, owner of Lake Tahoe Balloons. “We’re excited to see where it all goes from here.”
Members of the media are invited to attend the Burning Man-inspired Block Party on June 9 and meet participating creators, including The Bucket List Family, while getting an inside look at Creator Camp and how travel content is produced for audiences around the world.
