About Us
The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA/Visit Reno Tahoe) was established in 1959 as the Washoe County Fair and Recreation Board. The RSCVA (Visit Reno Tahoe) acts as a marketing organization for the county to promote convention and tourism business.
Unlike many convention and visitors bureaus across the country, the RSCVA (Visit Reno Tahoe) owns and operates several facilities designed to draw out-of-town visitors. In addition, the RSCVA (Visit Reno Tahoe) is mandated by the Nevada State Legislature (NRS 244A), and is not a partnership-based organization. The RSCVA (Visit Reno Tahoe), as a public body, also functions as a collection agency, ensuring that room taxes are distributed to the appropriate governmental organizations benefitting visitors and residents of Reno Tahoe.

Great Contrast
It’s no surprise that this destination is a place of great contrast. It’s evident in the name itself – Reno Tahoe. This is where the country’s largest alpine lake meets The Biggest Little City in the World. The inherent tension in contrast fuels the energy and ambition to seize life, act on instinct, and explore infinite possibility. It’s proof that this is a place that lives in refreshing non-conformity.
