Concert proceeds will support relief and recovery efforts following the Hawk, Bug, Stallion, and Bull fires
RENO, Nev. (Oct. 6, 2026) — Today, Visit Reno Tahoe presented a $90,641.90 check to the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, the result of a fundraising initiative tied to the Sept. 24 Ashanti & Trey Songz concert at the Reno Events Center.
Visit Reno Tahoe donated 100% of net proceeds from concert tickets purchased from Aug. 28 through the day of the show to support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in northern Nevada.
“This is one of those moments that makes me incredibly proud of our team and our community,” said Mike Larragueta, President and CEO of Visit Reno Tahoe. “Our venues are built to bring people together, and I’m proud to see them serve our community in two very different ways when Northern Nevada needed us. During the fires, the Reno-Sparks Convention Center supported immediate evacuation needs, and weeks later, the Reno Events Center gave us an opportunity to help with recovery. To now be able to give more than $90,000 back to our community because people showed up and supported this effort is very meaningful.”
The donation will help the Red Cross continue providing support to people affected by the Hawk, Bug, Stallion, and Bull fires, including shelter, meals, emergency supplies, and longer-term recovery assistance.
“Recovery doesn’t end when an evacuation order is lifted or a shelter closes,” said Bridget Posson, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter. “For many families, that’s when the difficult work of rebuilding begins. We’re grateful to Visit Reno Tahoe and everyone who supported this effort for helping the Red Cross continue to be there as families recover.”
The concert initiative was part of Visit Reno Tahoe’s broader response to the fires. The organization also provided complimentary concert tickets to first responders and made space available at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center to support evacuation efforts.
In response to the Hawk, Bug, and Stallion fires, the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada mobilized staff and more than 100 volunteers, who contributed more than 25,000 hours. More than 1,100 people registered at overnight shelters, and Red Cross teams served more than 3,750 meals and 8,000 snacks.
Joining Larragueta for the check presentation were Posson and Heidi Ruster, Regional CEO of the American Red Cross.
